The HVA4 is the 4-channel sibling in ART’s HVA install-amplifier series, aimed at larger 70V/100V distributed audio jobs — multi-zone paging, retail background music, or a building with several independently controlled speaker zones — where a single 1U amp covering four zones keeps rack space and cabling manageable.
Beyond per-channel gain and the same limiter/short-circuit/thermal protection as the HVA1, the HVA4 adds remote output disable and remote failure status reporting, which matter in installs tied into a building automation or paging controller: a zone can be muted or its fault state read back without a technician on site. As with any 70V system, correct tap settings on downstream speakers are what determine how many devices a given channel can drive — the amplifier’s rated wattage per channel is the ceiling to design against, not a number to fill completely.
